Lowkey Lyss is a multidisciplinary visual artist and designer based in Atlanta, working across acrylic, wood, and resin. Rooted in pop culture and nostalgia, their practice uses familiar imagery as an entry point, pulling viewers in with a sense of play before revealing a deeper emotional weight.


Through irony and juxtaposition, Lowkey’s work explores the tension between surface and substance. Bright, cartoon-like forms and polished finishes carry underlying themes of grief, identity, memory, and contradiction. What appears lighthearted at first glance often holds something heavier beneath, creating a dual experience that unfolds over time.
Maintaining anonymity as part of their practice, Lowkey shifts focus away from the artist and onto the work itself, questioning the role of identity in how art is received. This distance invites a more personal connection between the viewer and the piece, allowing meaning to be formed through recognition, memory, and feeling rather than authorship.
